Diane C. & Melvina M. Bickle Memorial Scholarship Restricted Fund
The Diane C. and Melvina M. Bickle Memorial Scholarship Fund will provide annual tuition assistance awards to students in Catholic schools within the Diocese of Charleston. This endowment honors the memory of Diane C. and Melvina M. Bickle by helping children in need receive the gift of a Catholic education.
Beginning in the spring of 2026, the Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Charleston will select three (3) recipients to each receive a $3,000 tuition award to attend a Catholic school in the Diocese for the upcoming school year.
Recipients will meet the following criteria:
- Be a current K–6th grade student enrolled in a Catholic school within the Diocese of Charleston;
- Live in a single-parent household;
- Be a United States citizen; and
- Demonstrate financial need to attend a Catholic school.
Each recipient will continue to receive the annual $3,000 tuition award as long as they remain enrolled in a Catholic school within the Diocese. Upon a recipient’s graduation from a Catholic high school, or if they transfer to a non-Catholic school, the award will cease and a new recipient will be selected according to the same criteria.
